Asalaamu’alaykum, guys!
Allah, the Oft-Forgiving, The Most Merciful has forgiven countless sins from the believers and nonbelievers. His mercy is immeasurable, and what He has forgiven is countless. He has bestowed endless mercies upon us, Islam and our beloved Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, are at the top of that list. Many many times it says in the Qur’aan that if we want to be forgiven, all we have to do is turn to Allah and we will get what we want. Then there’s the fact that we should be emulating the Prophet, may peace and blessings be upon him, in everything we do. One of the many characteristics of Prophet Muhammad (saw) was the mercy he had upon his Ummah, and even the disbelievers. Whenever someone wronged him, he would easily forgive them–all he wanted to do was guide us, and he did amazingly well Masha’Allah. Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him, was driven out of his beloved city of Mecca and he had to flee to Medina (correct me if I’m wrong), but still he wanted to stay in his hometown He didn’t want to leave and it brought tears to his eyes. But he never did anything to hurt his people after they pushed him away, because he forgave them. But how many of us can ever reach that level of Imaan? How many of us can forgive so easily? Pardon someone despite all that they did to hurt us? See, it’s hard to forgive someone when the shayaateen are right there whispering in our ears that they were wrong to hurt us, they should never be forgiven, and that we should get our revenge. But this way of thinking is very wrong. If we live our lives in a vengeful, spiteful way, we’re missing a whole lot of love in our lives. Just saying… We must be able to forgive someone, not for them, but for the sake of Allah and the sake of our own hearts. If you love someone for the sake of Allah and pardon them for their wrongdoing, you are the one who will benefit. Remember that!!!! The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, practiced forgiveness and mercy every day o his life. He was insulted and abused so often, but he was always able to forgive. His heart was pure, and if we want to at least try to reach his level of Imaan, we must do what he did. Never Will I Ever let someone’s wrongdoing keep me from doing what is right, In shaa Allah. Never Will I Ever try to get revenge because someone hurt me, In shaa Allah. Never Will I Ever not forgive someone, In shaa Allah. And I hope that if I ever wrong someone or already did, that they have the hear to forgive me. Ameen!
Sincerely,
Miss Goody-good/ Your Muslimah sis <3
Thanks for that reminder. Correction: Beloved city of Mecca, not Medina
Thanks! I’m gonna fix that.
